Starting this morning, we’re using a different service to send our daily email digest.
Most readers (hopefully) won’t notice any change, apart from a slightly different design. However, this new service allows us to dramatically improve readability on mobile devices. We can also now easily offer a text-only message for users whose email software isn’t set up to display HTML.
Also, the new service greatly streamlines our production process, which means I can spend more time finding stories and less time monkeying around with HTML templates. And on top of all that, it’s cheaper.

UPDATE 10/28: A number of readers have complained that the text is too light, particularly the links. I’ve changed the style sheet and hopefully things will look better tomorrow.
